Tamar
The ‘Tamar’ is an 800Gbps Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) chip, supporting two transmit channels of 400G-FR4, and utilizing 100Gbps per each of its eight optical lanes. It is based on Silicon Photonics (SiPho) technology and includes eight low-loss Mach-Zehnder Modulators (MZMs), two athermal low-loss integrated muxes, low speed phase shifters, and power monitors.
About this product
- Small footprint silicon photonics transmit-side PIC
- Low-loss athermal integrated mux
- Superior link budget due to low modulation insertion loss
- Designed for external lasers; can close link budget with 40mW laser source per wavelength
- Modulators are continuously self-calibrated using integrated power monitors
- TEC-less operation using DustPhotonics’ self-calibration algorithm
- 90 Ω typical differential input impedance
